TriHealth Sports Medicine is a multi-disciplinary network of experienced physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other health care professionals. We provide comprehensive prevention, recognition, and assessment of athletic injuries, and the complete management and treatment of them to a wide range of patients and athletes of all ages throughout Greater Cincinnati. Our team approach includes numerous physicians, physical therapists, and certified athletic trainers.
Services are provided to a wide variety of over 30 professional teams, high schools, club teams, local colleges and universities, and other sports related organizations. These services include, but are not limited to:

• MRI/X-ray
• Special services
• Rehabilitation
• Educational programs
• High school pre-participation physicals
• CPR and Sport Safety Training and certification
• Event/game coverage
• Patient transport services

The Certified Athletic Trainer is a highly educated health care
professional skilled in the prevention, recognition, management, and rehabilitation
of injuries that result from physical activity. Specifically, the ATC specializes
in five practice areas or domains:
• Prevention of athletic injuries
• Recognition, evaluation and immediate care of athletic injuries
• Rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries
• Health care administration
• Professional development
The ATC functions as an integral member of the
health care team. The Certified Athletic Trainer works under the direction of
a licensed physician and in cooperation with other health care professionals,
athletics administrators, coaches and parents. Each Certified Athletic Trainer
has fulfilled the requirements for certification established by the National
Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification, Inc. He/she must also
be licensed by the state through the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy,
and Athletic Trainers Board.

TriHealth Physical Therapy at Summit Woods / Winton Woods High School
Christy joined TriHealth in 2005. The Columbus, Ohio native is a graduate
of Capital University where she majored in Athletic Training and Health and
Fitness Management. She has been a certified member of the National Athletic
Trainers Association since 2003. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist. She has previously been employed by P.T. Services Rehabilitation
Inc., and Columbus Public Schools. She enjoys reading, softball, and is a
Columbus Crew fan.
