Winton Woods Marching Band Recyles Uniforms for Fundraiser
Band Uniforms The Winton Woods High School Marching Band is one of the most visible groups in our school district. These musical ambassadors perform at every home football game, for business and civic groups, and have represented our community at Miami University’s and UC’s Band Days, as well as at last year’s Atlanta Music Festival. Our profile and level of performance are high, but our appearance doesn’t measure up to those same standards. While most schools replace their marching band uniforms about every 10 years, ours are over 20 years old. It is hard to command pride and respect while wearing a uniform that is damaged or doesn’t fit. Our students work hard every year to raise money for our music programs, but fundraisers typically only earn a few thousand dollars. We are hoping you might support us in our effort to re-outfit our marching band by helping us raise the $70,000 needed for new uniforms. Special sponsorships or donations are available at the following levels:
With any donation of $100 or more, your student’s uniform fee will be waived for the rest of his or her high school career. The uniform fee will be $30 starting next year. Our students will continue to work hard to help raise money toward this effort, and we are pursuing other means of raising funds. We appreciate your consideration in being part of this endeavor. Any donation would be greatly appreciated, and all donations are tax deductible. If you are able to help us, please make your check payable to “Winton Woods High School” and indicate that it is for new marching band uniforms. New uniforms for our marching band will benefit not only the first group of students who receive them, but thousands more band students over the years. Please consider being part of a new musical tradition at Winton Woods High School. |
