Winton Woods School Board places 10 year Emergency Operating levy on the ballot - August 2009
The Winton Woods Board of Education voted on Tuesday, August 11 to place a $4.2 million, 10-year emergency operating levy on the November 3 ballot. The levy will cost the owner of a $100,000 home $234.51 per year or $19.54 per month. The levy will also have to be voted on for renewal in 10 years.
"It is imperative that all parents get behind the passage of this levy. All parents must be heard from, just not a few. said Board President Jack Lee, citing the fact that the districts last levy attempt in August lost by only 112 votes.
District homeowners really must pay attention to what continual defeats and the possible overwhelming changes to our schools are going to do to your property values, Lee added. We are on the cusp of being pennywise and pound foolish if we continue to not support our schools."

Winton Woods Marching Band Recyles Uniforms for Fundraiser
The Winton Woods Marching Band is selling some of its history to raise money for new uniforms this fall. "The band pillows we're selling are made from old band uniforms, and all money goes to new marching band uniforms," said Band Director Dani Ashbrook. The cost of the pillows is $40 each. They come in "button front" and "block W front" designs."
Besides student fundraising, the Winton Woods Music Boosters are paying for half of the new uniforms. "But $15,000 is still needed," said Ashbrook, "so we're selling the band pillows."
Delivery of the pillows will take 4-6 weeks from the time of order. Checks should be made out to Winton Woods High School and orders sent to Band Director Dani Ashbrook, Winton Woods High School, 1231 W. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45240. Those with questions should call Dani Ashbrook at 619-2437 or email ashbrook.danelle@wintonwoods.org.
